Why this site exists

English Focus Daily is a free, structured English-learning library built for adult learners worldwide. There are millions of pages about English on the internet, but most of them either oversimplify (one-line definitions with no context) or overwhelm (a 5,000-word grammar tome you’ll never finish). This site sits in the middle โ€” focused lessons of 5 to 15 minutes, with real examples and short quizzes to help the knowledge stick.

Every lesson is written for the learner, not the search engine. We pick topics that actually trip people up โ€” articles, prepositions, phrasal verbs, the gap between formal and casual register โ€” and explain them the way a patient teacher would.

Who runs the site

English Focus Daily is run by a small editorial team. The day-to-day editor and founder reads everything before it goes live. Author bios and credentials are listed on each lesson and on the author page. We do not publish anonymous content.

If you have feedback, corrections, or ideas for lessons you’d like to see, the contact page is the fastest way to reach us.

What you’ll find here

  • Grammar โ€” tenses, articles, modal verbs, prepositions, common-mistake fixes.
  • Vocabulary โ€” word of the day, phrasal verbs, idioms, business English.
  • Speaking โ€” pronunciation, daily conversations, the small phrases native speakers actually use.
  • Writing โ€” clear email English, formal vs. casual register, structure tips.
  • Listening โ€” short audio clips, dictation, and natural-speed dialogues.
  • Quizzes โ€” short interactive practice that tells you exactly what to revise.

What you won’t find here

We do not publish:

  • Test-prep cram pages (IELTS / TOEFL / Cambridge prep) โ€” there are excellent dedicated sites for those.
  • Translation tools or dictionary lookups โ€” that’s a different product.
  • Auto-generated word lists with no explanation or examples.
  • “Learn English in 7 days” style content. You can’t, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

How the site is funded

Everything on the site is free for learners. We cover hosting and editorial costs through display advertising (served by Google AdSense) and, occasionally, affiliate links to learning resources we genuinely recommend. Affiliate links are always disclosed inline. See our disclaimer and privacy policy for the full picture.

How content is reviewed

Every lesson is fact-checked before publishing, dated when it goes live, and updated when language usage shifts or readers point out an issue. The full process is documented on our Editorial Policy page.
